Fajitas are tasty – everyone knows this. Sometimes I feel like cooks complicate things a little too much and as a result it intimidates people who are trying new recipes. I believe everyone deserves to eat homemade fajitas, so here is a five ingredient recipe for fajitas with only a few steps. There are plenty of veggies to balance out the protein and the flavor is perfect with just one spice. Enjoy on turmeric wraps for a complete Whole30-friendly fajita experience. Yield: 6-8 servings
Time: Overnight marinating plus 15 minutes cook time
- 1.5 lbs pork, chicken, or beef cut into thin strips
- 1 tsp-tbs Aleppo pepper flakes
- 2 whole limes
- 3 bell peppers, sliced (red, orange, and yellow)
- 1 onion, sliced
Cut limes into wedged eighths and juice into gallon zippered plastic bag containing meat of your choice. Add the Aleppo pepper flakes (amount is up to you) and shake to coat evenly. Throw the lime wedges into the bag along with sliced onions and bell peppers, and place sealed bag into the fridge to marinate overnight.
Preheat skillet on medium-high with a light oil coating before adding contents of the whole bag, liquid and all. Sautee until cooked through, about 15 minutes, depending on meat used.
